Imagine being a gay teenage girl with alopecia and being taught by Irish Catholic nuns! Can’t have been easy, but somehow Zoey Lyons came out relatively unscathed and went on to become a stand-up comedian.
In this interview with Andrew Whiteside, Zoey dishes the dirt on her upbringing and explains how Brexit may mean she has to give up her Dutch wife.
She is currently in New Zealand as part of the annual Comedy Festival. Zoey has a degree in Psychology from the University of York but it was her appearance on the hit reality show Survivor that set her on the road of comedy when the Head of Programming at ITV suggested she go into stand-up.
