This is a French film with English subtitles, and it’s about an ageing and soon to retire seamstress working for Dior Avenue Montaigne in Paris. When a young Arabic girl steals her purse on a train, rather than seek revenge, she takes the thief under her wing.
Press play to watch my review:
It’s a very sweet film with understated humour and a great blend of feisty and quirky characters. The story moves along at a nice pace, aided by a very capable cast. At the heart of this film are the themes of loneliness and trust, and both notions are explored in a clever and meaningful way. The story gives a nice insight into what happens when one puts aside prejudice and revenge.
