Set in 1969, the film is the story of a Protestant family caught up in the troubles of Northern Ireland, and threats against them by fellow protestants who want them to join anti-catholic riots.
Press play to watch the review:
Filmed mostly in black and white, the film has an almost documentary feel to it with scenes that show key moments in the characters’ lives. Performances by all the cast were superb, and there was a good balance of tension, emotion, and lighthearted moments. This is a sweet movie, though there were some slow patches in it.
