Read: New music from Demi Lovato, The Kooks, Justin Bieber

Here are some of the tracks and albums that have been on my playlist lately – if you have an opinion on the tracks, let me know in the comments below:

Dancing with the Devil (single) – Demi Lovato

This song was written about Lovato’s struggle with drug use and the experience leading up to her near fatal overdose in 2018. From the soon to be released album Dancing with the Devil… The Art of Starting Over. I really liked this track, part rock and roll, part ballad, great vocals and fascinating lyrics including “I told you I was ok, but I was lying,”  “it’s hard to say now when you are dancing with the devil,”  and most chillingly “Almost made it to heaven, it was closer than you know.”Simple lyrics but very powerful, especially when Lovato emotes them so well. This is a powerful and brutally honest song.

Justice (album) – Justin Bieber

Justin is a bit of an enigma – the kind of artist who has a huge following but whose music is really hit and miss. His new album Justice is a mixture of pop songs that are definitely hit and miss. Many of them a little insipid, but of the best of the 24 tracks on the album are Die for You, Ghost, Holy, and Lonely

Naive (single) – The Kooks & Seeb

The Kooks are an English indie-rock band who have a new single out called Naive. It’s an upbeat song with a catchy sound and interesting lyrics all about a break up. It’s been made in collaboration with Norwegian music production duo Seeb.
