This is an animated film about an AI powered robot called Roz that gets trapped on a remote human free island and must interact with the wild animals on it.

While mostly aimed at kids this is a heart moving movie that will also appeal to adults. The story has enough little twists and turns in it to keep it interesting and some very heartfelt, tender and emotional bits as well.

The voice acting is very good and the story has a great array of characters both good and bad but all of whom show the ability to grow and evolve.

This is clearly a morality play and if you know the story of the ugly duckling, you’ll have no trouble guessing what this film is really all about.

That morality is layered on pretty thick and basically reminds us that diversity is good bullying is bad and acceptance and cooperation are vital for us all. In the real world I think both adults and kids need that reinforced.

So how did I score it?

Acting  7 /10

Story/Script  7 /10

Cinematography   7 /10

Set/Costumes  7 /10

Entertainment value  7 /10

That gives The Wild Robot  an average score of  7.0 / 10
