This is an engaging film with a compelling story. The cast is superb, with Zen McGrath giving a riveting performance as a teenager in crisis. Hugh Jackman plays an aspiring politician who hasn’t really reconciled his own childhood very well.
Though a little slow in parts, The Son confront issues of mental health very well and sympathetically. This is not your standard Hollywood film, and has some very dramatic and unnerving moments, but it is a good watch.
