Movie Review: Loop Track

This kiwi comedy slash psychological thriller stars Tom Sainsbury as Ian, a very dodgy and possibly unhinged man who goes tramping in a forest and encounters some interesting fellow hikers. But things start to go wrong when Ian thinks he sees things in the forest and starts to unravel emotionally. Is he just paranoid, is he dangerous, or are there real dangers out in the trees?

Press play to watch the review:

After a bit of a slow start, this movie proves to be a very well constructed and quite tense story. This is probably Sainsbury’s best filmic performance and his fellow cast members are great. There’s a good balance of human interest, comedy and drama, and quite a shocking twist towards the end. The film avoids the usual cliches found in this and is genuinely scary at times.
