The story concerns a cocktail waitress who is invited to a private tropical island by a billionaire who seems very attracted to her. Joined by other beautiful women and a number of the rich guys male friends it seems like a non stop party. But things start to go awry.
Press play to watch the review:
The action in the film takes a little while to start, for a while its mostly about wild drunken parties. But eventually the film takes on the air of mystery thriller, and then gets very dark and very violent.
The acting is very good particularly by Tatum and Ackie and there is enough suspense to keep you guessing as to what is really going on in this seeming paradise.
This is an edgy film which while a little disjointed at times clearly points a brutal and at times satirical look at power, corruption and manipulation.
There are some funny lines, but the film is quite frankly a brutal yet entertaining watch that will leave you pondering the social structure.
