Movie Review: Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, silly or masterpiece?

A sequel to the 1988 film this one sees Beetlejuice needing help to get away from his soul sucking and dismembered wife. To do so, he needs the help of Lydia Deetz and her daughter Astrid.

Press play to watch the review:

It’s a very silly film in many respects and it takes a while to get into the action, but once it does it sweeps you away in its craziness and sheer camp humour. The cast are great, and Michael Keaton is a delight as the eponymous main character. The film rehashes a few of the jokes and sequences from the earlier film, but that adds to its nostalgic vibe. This version has some  incredibly well shot dance numbers and a groovy soundtrack.

Beetlejuice Beetlejuice is a zany and fun night at the movies.
