In 1980s New Zealand, celebrity chefs Peter Hudson and David Halls hosted a camp cooking show named after themselves. Hudson and Halls was chaotic, funny and hugely popular.
Behind the scenes, the two men were in a long term and somewhat tempestuous relationship. Both men died in 1993, Peter from cancer, and David from suicide. The fascinating story of their lives is told in Joanne Drayton’s book Hudson and Halls: the Food of Love.
