Netflix staff to walk out over Dave Chappelle’s transgender jokes

A rally in support of a walkout by trans employees of Netflix took place today in Hollywood. The protest comes after Netflix co-CEO Ted Sarandos defended Dave Chappelle’s special The Closer which critics say contains transphobic and homophobic content. Sarandos wrote: “While some employees disagree, we have a strong belief that content on screen doesn’t necessarily translate to real-world harm“.

Dutch royals can marry same-sex partner without giving up the crown

The Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte has stated that the Dutch crown princess has the right to marry a person of any gender without giving up her right to the throne. Crown Princess Catharine-Amalia (pictured above), is 17 years old and the heir to the throne, but has made no comment or indication about her sexuality. Rutte made the statement after recently published books argued that the country’s rules exclude the possibility of a same-sex royal couple. Same-sex marriage was legalised in the Netherlands in 2001, but royal marriages need the approval of the country’s parliament.
