US gay rights advocate murdered


An American gay rights advocate who was integral in legalising same-sex marriage in Florida was found dead in a landfill. The Tallahassee Police Department says they are treating the death as a homicide. Jorge Diaz-Johnston (picture above right), was last seen alive on January 3rd.  


Trans activists will not be charged for sharing JK Rowling’s address on Twitter


Scottish police have said they will not prosecute three transgender activists who published J.K. Rowling’s address on Twitter.  In November 2021, comedian Holly Stars, actor Georgia Frost, and drag star Richard Energy staged a demonstration in front of Rowling’s Edinburgh home to protest against her views on the trans community. They posted a pic on Twitter that identified the address. A Police Scotland spokesperson said in an email to NBC News that after making enquiries into the matter, the police could find no evidence of criminality. 


Australian man convicted in gay hate murder cold case


An Australian man has pled guilty to murdering an American mathematician who fell from a Sydney cliff in 1988 in a gay hate crime that was dismissed by police at the time as suicide. Scott White was charged two years ago with murdering 27-year-old Scott Johnson (pictured), whose naked body was found a the base of cliffs on the 8th December 1988. White is to be sentenced on May 2nd and could face up to life in prison.
