For over thirty years, the New Zealand AIDS Foundation has been at the forefront of HIV/AIDS epidemic in New Zealand providing support for those living with HIV, and offering services aimed at preventing HIV infection. It’s successful in that New Zealand has one of the lowest incidences of HIV infection in the world.
Now, in 2022, the organisation has a new name – Burnett Foundation Aotearoa, which honours Bruce Burnett, the man who helped set up the foundation in the mid 1980s. Talking with Andrew Whiteside about the name change and the future of the organisation is Joe Rich, the new General Manager of the foundation.
