Event: Wicked the Musical – April 2023

After multiple postponements in 2021 and eventually the cancellation of their season in 2022, North Shore Music Theatre triumphantly make their return with The Barfoot & Thompson Season of Wicked The Musical, taking flight 31 March 2023 at Sky City Theatre for a limited season only.

At the heart of the Emerald City will be an Auckland based cast of over 40 of New Zealand’s top performers, including music superstar Tina Cross finally hitting the stage as Madame Morrible.

The second highest grossing musical in Broadway history, Wicked The Musical tells the remarkable untold story of an unlikely but profound friendship between two girls who first meet as sorcery students at Shiz University: the blonde and beloved Glinda (Teresa Wojtowicz) and a misunderstood and chartreuse-skinned Elphaba (Heather Wilcock).

Their extraordinary adventures in Oz will ultimately see them fulfil their destinies as Glinda – The Good, and Elphaba – the Wicked Witch of the West.

Something WICKED this way comes… Good news, they’re back!

Since premiering almost 20 years ago, Wicked has won more than 100 major awards and been performed in 16 countries, including Japan, South Korea, New Zealand, Brazil, Germany and the UK.

North Shore Music Theatre’s production will cast a spell over you with their fantastical scenery, spectacular costumes, and bewitching performances that will make this an unmissable show. Be enchanted by your favourite spellbinding hits including Defying GravityPopularFor Good and No One Mourns the Wicked –– you’ll be green with envy if you miss it.
