The Unsung Heroes is a fascinating night of great music, stories and images presented by some of New Zealand’s best creative talents.
The show is presented by actor Peter Elliott, and the musical talents of Cameron Bennett, Sonia Wilson, Nigel Gavin & Chris Priestley.
They sing songs of new Zealand’s distant past – its heroes, villains, thieves, prostitutes, murderers, saviours, magicians, pirates and dreamers.
As well as music, Unsung Heroes features photographic slideshow of historic images as accompaniment, with, gorgeously evocative music and words, and Elliott’s old-style radio diction, sharp timing, and dry humour all predictive of ways we have come to see ourselves.
