Acclaimed Australian Choreographer and three-time Dancing with the Stars championAric Yegudkin directs the sensational new show Ballroom Blitz which embarks on a whirlwind national tour across 12 centres all over New Zealand from May 28 to June 16, 2024.
12first-class dancers will be accompanied by an electric live on-stage five-piece band and two vocalists to bring the moves in this ultimate dance extravaganza, presented by Base Entertainment. This is Ballroom Dance unleashed!
After their sensational hit show ‘Celtica’ during the pandemic in March 2021 and then again in August 2023 they’re back and brimming with excitement. Producer Anthony Street says “Returning without the need to quarantine feels like we’re dancing on air! We’re ready to kick up the energy and groove with our fantastic New Zealand audience once again!”
Ballroom Blitz spins traditional ballroom dance and mixes it with cutting-edge choreography. The result is a mesmerising display of skill and passion performed to a soundtrack that includes favourites from Buble, Desree, Elvis, Dua Lipa, Sam Smith and more. Aric Yegudkin’s artistry takes centre stage guiding the audience on an awe-inspiring spectacle where rhythm meets romance and passion ignites the dance floor. Audiences will be transported to a world where every step tells a story, and every move ignites the senses.
Produced by Anthony Street along with kiwi-born musical director Hayden Baird who plays the Saxaphone and flute in the live band.The cast features Dancing with the Stars(DWTS) winners and superstars including Shae Mountain, a talented kiwi-born star who razzle-dazzled audiences when he teamed up with NZ comedian Laura Daniel on Dancing with the Stars in 2019. Together, they not only danced their way into the hearts of viewers but also built a beautiful friendship. Other world-class dancers include Ash-Leigh Hunter, Ruby Gherbaz, Julian Caillon, Joshua O’Grady, Stephanie Cappas, Daria Walczak, Nick Chan, Jessica Grivan, Kim Perry and Neville Parry.
The show features breathtaking costumes, lighting and stage design fused with heart-pounding music by the live band. This show will set the stage on fire as the dancers create moments of pure enchantment and deliver a testament to the incredible world of dance.
